WHAT IF HE MEANT WHAT HE SAID?

WHAT IF HE MEANT WHAT HE SAID? - PART 6 - YOU WILL SAY TO THIS MOUNTAIN "MOVE"

JAKE STIMPSON | JESUS | TOUGH VERSES | HEAR AND DO | FAITH | PRAYER | ASK | RECEIVE

A number of times in the New Testament, Jesus gave the disciples a remarkable promise that whatever they ask, He would do for them, even if they asked Him to move a mountain. Was He serious? Did He really mean that?

What If He Meant What He Said? Part 3 – One Thing is Necessary

WHAT IF HE MEANT WHAT HE SAID?

WHAT IF HE MEANT WHAT HE SAID? - PART 3 - ONE THING IS NECESSARY

JAKE STIMPSON | JESUS | TOUGH VERSES | HEAR AND DO | DECEIVED | DOERS | LUKE 10 | MARY AND MARTHA

When Jesus stopped at Martha and Mary’s house, Martha was busy and distracted with serving, but Mary was sitting at His feet listening. When Martha got on Jesus’ case and demanded He make her sister help her out, Jesus told her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” There are so many things you could do and spend your time and energy on, but one thing is needed, to sit before Jesus and receive from Him. How are you doing on that one most important thing?

THE REWARDS OF FASTING

JAKE STIMPSON | REVIVAL | AWAKENING | FASTING | SEEKING GOD | 2 CHRONICLES 7:14

There is a link between experiencing revival and actively humbling ourselves and seeking God in fasting and prayer. But revival isn’t the only reward of fasting. What else does God do when we seek Him in fasting?

JAKE STIMSON | PRAYER | INTERCESSION | POWER | JOSHUA | VICTORY | SPIRITUAL WARFARE

When Joshua was pursuing a ruthless enemy in battle, he prayed a ridiculous, brazen prayer – “God, freeze the sun and moon where they are so we can keep this battle going!” And the crazy thing is, God responded. The sun and moon stood still. What gave Joshua the boldness to pray such a ridiculous prayer? 1) God had already promised him complete victory, and in Joshua’s mind, this is what it would take to see God’s promise fulfilled. 2) Joshua spent a lot of time in the presence of God, so He know God’s heart.

JAKE STIMSON | PRAYER | INTERCESSION | POWER | HEZEKIAH | ASSYRIA | FAITH | DELIVERANCE

The powerful Assyrian Empire has invaded and overthrown the northern kingdom of Israel. To the south, ruling over the kingdom of Judah, the young Hezekiah sees the destruction to the north, knowing that Judah is next. At last, the Assyrians reach Jerusalem, surrounding it with their vast army. It’s at this point that Hezekiah makes the best decision in the war – he runs to the temple and cries out to God for help. God responds and miraculously wipes out the Assyrians. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the best thing you can do is run to God, who will deliver you.

Charles Spurgeon once said, “To pray is to enter the treasure-house of God and to gather riches out of an inexhaustible storehouse.” Walk with God, learn His heart, grab ahold of the promises in the Scriptures, and pray in faith, knowing that He is a good Father ready to do good for His children.

Pastor and writer EM Bounds once said, “Prayer breaks all bars, dissolves all chains, opens all prisons, and widens all straits by which God’s saints have been held.” Prayer is one of our greatest weapons, and our neglect of it is one of the church’s greatest failings. Let’s leave behind our foolish pride that says we don’t need God’s help and get on our knees and pray!

JAKE STIMPSON | PRAYER | MOSES | DANIEL | FAITH | ELIJAH | JAMES 5:16 | GENESIS 1:26 | AUTHORITY

Why pray? What’s the point? Doesn’t God just know what we need and do it? Are we just talking to the air, encouraging ourselves as we pray… or is something powerful happening as we pray? James 5:16 – “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

KNOWING GOD - PART 2

JAKE STIMPSON | ETERNAL LIFE | PHARISEES | MOSES | KNOWING GOD | PRAYER | BIBLE STUDY | JOHN 15 | ABIDE

Who was Jesus toughest on while on the earth? Who did he really wail on? The Pharisees! One of the dangers of the Pharisees is that they were so close to being right, and yet so completely wrong. They were admirable in their devotion to the Law, their seriousness toward God, their dedication to righteousness… but they didn’t actually have a relationship with God and that’s why they were so wrong in everything. If we’re not careful, we can be the same, parading around with an air of religiosity but with no real relationship with the living God.
